What is Hatch?

Hatch is a jobs marketplace that helps you find teams and opportunities that genuinely fit you and your stage. We work differently than other recruitment companies because we look at YOU before we look at your CV (eg. the first part of your profile is an intro video!) Regardless of whether you are looking for an internship to get your foot in the door, or a permanent role to take that next big step in your career, Hatch is here to help.

Does Hatch have many roles that support visa sponsorship?

When you open a role page on Hatch, you can immediately see whether or not the company can support visa sponsorship. Unfortunately, for the time being, most roles at hatch do not support the visa process, however we are hoping to change that in the future.

What do I do if I haven’t received the verification email for my account?

It can take up to 15 minutes for your account verification email to come through, so please sit tight and check your spam and junk folders carefully (our emails can often get lost!). If you do not receive the verification email after 15 minutes, please contact us at ask@hatch.team.

How do I deactivate my account?

You can deactivate your account at any time. Simply email us at ask@hatch.team with the subject line “deactivate my account” and we will do it for you!

How do I apply for a role on Hatch?

  1. Complete your profile - you can get advice on this here

  2. Confirm your personal details

  3. Confirm your availability

  4. Complete a skill snapshot - this highlights your relevant skills and helps employers see how you would perform in the role

  5. Introduce yourself to the team with a video - how? Read more here

  6. Submit!

Want to make sure your application is top notch? Read this support article.

After you have submitted your application, it gets shared with the hiring manager who will review it and make a decision. You will receive an email from the hiring manager to let you know the outcome of your application. Bear in mind that this may take some time, especially given the high volume of applications some roles receive.

How can I contact the hiring manager?

We do not currently support candidates directly contacting the hiring manager, instead they will contact you shortly after you submit your application. If you have a question or concern about your application, you can instead contact the Hatch team at ask@hatch.team.

Does Hatch use AI / automations to review candidates?

No, the only place we use AI is in our awesome Hatch Match system, in which we use an algorithm to find the perfect role for our customers. All application reviews are completed by (human) hiring managers.

Can I download my application to reuse it for other roles?

No, although this feature is coming soon!

I have been waiting a long time for the outcome of my application, what should I do?

We get it, a long wait time can be very frustrating and anxiety inducing, so we are working on ways to reduce this wait time and increase transparency so you can understand where your application is at. Currently, it’s best to just sit tight and wait because often roles receive a high volume of applications and thus hiring managers take up to a few weeks to reply to candidates. However, if you are feeling worried or like you have missed an important email, you can contact the Hatch team at ask@hatch.team.

Does Hatch post unpaid internships?

No, here at Hatch we only support roles that pay interns. It’s not only the right thing to do as your work is valuable but not paying interns is against the law.

Do I need a cover letter?

No, a cover letter is not needed when applying for roles with Hatch. However, you could think of your intro video as a type of cover letter. This is a great way to express the aspects of the company that aligns with you and to show that you’ve done your research.
