Once your job is posted, you can manage it from two places:
Your Jobs page: click the … next to the job.
The job itself: click the … in the top-right corner of the job page.
Both open the same menu, with options to change application settings and message settings, or duplicate, close, reopen or delete the job.
Where your job is at 📍
Every job is in one of three stages:
Draft: you're still setting it up. It isn't visible, so no one can apply and you can't invite people.
Open: your job is live. People can apply, and you can invite people from the Community.
Closed: your job is no longer live. No new applications come in, and you can't send invites.
Editing a job ✏️
You can change almost everything about a job once it's live, from the job details and overview to your criteria, pay rate and questions.
Quick edits with Application settings: click the … on your job and select Application settings to jump straight to your key criteria, application questions and screening questions.
💡 Changing your questions? Edits to application or screening questions only apply to new applications. Applications already submitted, and their answers, stay as they are.
The one thing you can't change is a job's type. To switch between a student job and a direct hire job, post a new job.
Customising your messages 💬
Every time you invite someone, or shortlist or decline an application, Hatch sends them a message. To change the default wording for a job, click the … on your job and select Message settings.
You can edit three default messages:
Invite applicant: sent when you invite someone from the Community.
Accept application: sent when you shortlist an applicant.
Decline application: sent when you decline an applicant.
Personalise them with {{firstName}} for the applicant's name or {{companyName}} for your company's name. Each message can be up to 1,000 characters.
Duplicating a job 📋
Hiring for the same job? Duplicate an existing one instead of starting from scratch.
Click the … on your job, from your Jobs page or the job page.
Select Duplicate job.
Your copy is saved as a draft called Copy of [job title], so you can tweak the details before posting it. You can't pick a different job type while duplicating, but because it's a draft you can still change it before you post.
What's copied:
Job description, location, pay and hours
Criteria, and application and screening questions
Your hiring team and their reels
Behind the scenes content
What's not: applicants, the job's status, and its post and close dates.
Closing a job 📦
Done hiring? Click the … on your job and select Close job. You can also set a job to close on its own by ticking Close this job automatically on a date before you post. When you close a job:
People can no longer apply, including anyone who'd started an application but not submitted it.
You can't invite people from the Community.
The job no longer shows up in searches.
We don't email applicants to let them know.
Applicants already in your pipeline stay where they are. You can keep reviewing them, shortlisting and, for student jobs, sending offers. Any offers you've already sent stay valid, so students can still accept or decline them.
Reopening a job 👐
Didn't find the right person, or hiring for the same job again? Reopen it. When you reopen a job:
People can apply again.
You can invite people from the Community again.
The job shows up in searches again.
To reopen a job, click the … on the job and select Open job.
Deleting a job 🗑️
No longer need a job? Click the … next to it and select Delete job. Just know it's permanent.
The job is removed from your list for good.
You lose access to the job and all its details, including applications.
You can't undo it.
If you might hire for the job again, close it instead.
Closing or deleting several jobs at once ☑️
Tidying up? Close or delete jobs in bulk from your Jobs page.
On your Jobs page, click Select (top right, next to the number of results).
Tick the box in the corner of each job you want, or use Select all.
In the bar at the bottom of the page, click the close icon to close them, or the bin icon to delete them.
The bar shows how many jobs you've selected. Click Clear to start again, or Cancel to stop selecting.
Sharing a job 🔗
Click Share in the top-right corner of your job page, or Add team member in your job's Meet the team section, to open the share menu. From there, you can bring your team in or get the word out.
Invite teammates: add their emails, separated by commas. Your current hiring team shows under Your team, with each person's role, like Hiring manager.
Copy link to edit job: share with your team so they can update the job details.
Copy public link to job post: share your job with anyone, like on LinkedIn or with your network, so they can apply.
