Setting up your company on Hatch

Set up your company once, and every job you post looks the part.

Written by Support Team

Your company profile is the first thing applicants see next to your job. Sign in, set up your profile, invite your team, and you're ready to start hiring.

Your Hatch account 👤

You only need one Hatch account. It connects you to your own personal profile and every company you hire for.

📧 One email per account. Your Hatch account can only be tied to one email address, but your profile can be linked to every company you work for. If you have any trouble accessing Hatch because of your email address, reach out to our support team.

Signing in

Hatch is passwordless. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with your Google or LinkedIn account, so there are no passwords to manage. We don't currently offer enterprise SSO (SAML or OIDC through Okta, Entra and similar).

Switching between hiring and your personal profile 🔄

Click your company name in the top-left corner. From the dropdown you can:

  • Go to your personal profile: click your name at the top of the list.

  • Switch companies: if you hire for more than one company, pick it under Your companies. A tick shows which one you're in.

Your current plan, like Plus, shows next to your company's name.

Your company profile 🏢

Your company profile shows off your employer brand: your values, culture and what it's actually like to work with you. It's your chance to make a great first impression.

Company details 👀

  • Team photo: a high-quality photo of your team. Nothing fancy, a team lunch selfie or office party pic works. The more human, the better.

  • Company name: accurate and on-brand.

  • Your URL: the link to your Hatch company profile.

  • Mission: a quick statement on your purpose, goals and values.

  • Headquarters location: where your main office is. Tick ‘We are fully remote’ if you are.

  • Company size: roughly how many people work with you.

  • Industry: the sector you work in.

  • External links: your socials, press articles or anything else worth a look.

About your company 💭

Share your story, vision and what sets you apart both as a business and as an employer. Keep it brief but punchy. This is the part that helps people connect with your brand.

Hatch hot take: provided by the Hatch team. You can discuss this with your Hatch contact, or ask about it through our support team.

Behind the scenes 📸

Show applicants your day-to-day vibe, culture and events. It's one of the main reasons people love finding jobs on Hatch, so have fun with it.

To get you started, pick from our content templates and edit them to suit:

  • Our values: the principles that guide what you do.

  • How we hire: what applicants can expect from your process.

  • Office tour: a look at where the magic happens, physical or remote.

  • Learning and development: how you support growth.

  • Company achievements: your wins and milestones.

  • Our commitment to diversity: how you build an inclusive team.

  • Early career opportunities: what you offer students and recent graduates.

  • Sustainability and social impact: how you make a difference.

  • Our impact and purpose: the bigger picture.

  • What we do: a deeper dive into your products or services.

Your first three Behind the scenes blocks show on every job you post. You can also write your own from scratch.

Inviting your team 🤝

Hatch works best when your whole team is on board, and it's free to add them. Teammates can help review applicants, join your job posts in Meet the team, and keep your company profile up to date.

Add a teammate

  1. Go to Settings › People.

  2. Click Invite.

  3. Enter their email addresses. Tick ‘Grant admin access’ if you’d like to provide it.

  4. Click Send invites.

Inviting from a job: in your job's Meet the team section, click Add team member and search by email. Teammates who already have a Hatch account show up straight away. Anyone else gets an email invite. You can add several people at once by separating their emails with commas.

Anyone who signs up with a verified email address on your company's domain is automatically invited to join your team.

Inviting someone who already uses Hatch? Use the email address on their existing account. Each account is tied to one email, so inviting a different address creates a separate account.

Find and manage your team

In Settings › People, search for anyone by name or email, or filter by Status and Role. Admins are marked with an Admin tag.

Restrict job access 🔒

Want people to see only the jobs they're hiring for? Turn on Restrict job access in Settings › People. Teammates will only see jobs where they're on the hiring team. Admins still see everything.

Remove a teammate

  1. Go to Settings › People.

  2. Click the three dots (…) next to their name.

  3. Select Remove.

Give someone admin access 👑

Admins can manage people, company details and settings, and see every job.

  1. Go to Settings › People.

  2. Click the three dots (…) next to their name.

  3. Select Grant admin access.

To remove it, follow the same steps and select Remove admin access.

Setting defaults for every job ⚙️

Save time by setting your company's defaults once. They apply to every new job your team creates. Jobs you've already posted won't change. Go to Settings › Application settings to set:

  • Default application questions: questions every applicant answers, added to each new job automatically.

  • Default screening questions: questions that check applicants against your key requirements, also added to each new job automatically.

  • Default messages: the messages sent when you invite someone from the Community, shortlist an applicant or decline an application. Personalise them with {{firstName}} and {{companyName}}.

You can still change any of these for a single job. Click the … on the job and select Application settings or Message settings.

Notifications 🔔

Hatch emails you about your jobs, like new applications, so nothing slips through. These hiring emails can't be turned off.

Marketing emails, like Hatch news and tips, are different. You can turn them off using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them.

💡 Your role on a job matters too. Hiring managers and recruiters get emails about the job, but other team members don't. Set each person's role in the job's Meet the team section.
