Overview

When you join Hatch, you’ll set up a personal account that connects you to all the companies you’re part of. This way, you only need one account to easily switch between your personal profile and your hiring activities.

Accessing your settings

You can manage your profile settings anytime by heading to your profile, clicking on your avatar, then Settings. Here, you can control your account, security and notifications.

Account

Personal demographics 🌈

At Hatch, we’re committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone. These optional questions help us better understand our community and improve our services. Your answers are private, de-identified, and used only for internal reporting. This data is never shared with employers. These questions include:

  • Gender: What gender do you identify as?

  • Age: What is your year of birth?

  • First Nations identity: Do you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander?

Privacy 🔒

At Hatch, your privacy matters. Your profile link is always accessible, but you control who sees what. Your name, photo, and bio are always visible, but all other details can be hidden. We have several options to set up your profile and how it’s displayed to others.

Profile visibility

  1. Anyone on the internet: All of your profile details are public and can be viewed by anyone, and we'll recommend your profile to companies.

  2. Anyone logged into Hatch: Only people on Hatch can see your profile details, and we'll recommend your profile to companies.

  3. Only me: Your profile details are private and visible only to you. It won’t be recommended to companies.

Profile recommendations

We recommend your profile to companies based on your job fit. You can define in your settings who your profile can be recommended to:

  1. All companies: Your profile can be recommended to all companies, even your current company.

  2. All except my current company: We will exclude you from being recommended to the same company listed on your current active My story experience—so make sure it is up to date.

  3. No one: You will not be recommended to any companies. You can send match requests, but you won't receive any requests.

Remember, this setting isn’t the same as Profile visibility. For example, if you’d rather not be recommended to employers, set Profile recommendations to “No one.” But if you’ve perfected your profile and want to share it with your network, change Profile visibility to “Anyone on the internet” and share your profile link!

Delete your account 🗑️

Deleting your account is permanent. This will remove your entire profile and all your data. You won’t be able to recover your information.

Notifications

You can choose which updates to receive on Hatch. You can toggle between different types of notifications to suit your needs.

Opt-in or out of email notifications for the following:

  • Jobs recommended for you: Get notified about jobs we think you'll like and make sure you never miss out on an opportunity.

  • Job invitations: Receive updates when you’re invited to match.

  • Marketing: These are emails from the Hatch team with some extra info about Hatch, searching for a job, and sometimes an exciting event!
