Hatch gives you a number of tools to organise your candidates and review them quickly so that you can get to a better hiring outcome, faster.

What are the different stages in Hatch’s hiring workflow?

Hatch has a simple workflow that makes it easy for you to review your applicants in an organised way. The different stages in Hatch’s workflow are:

  • Inbox: Applications that haven’t been actioned or yet

  • Shortlist: Candidates who show potential for your role

  • Interview: Candidates you'd like to take to the next step in your hiring process

  • Unsuccessful: Candidates you've decided not to move forward with. You’ll have the option to send a templated email to candidates you decline on Hatch.

How do I see what my role looks like to candidates?

To preview what candidates encounter, click on the eye icon and it will give you two options:

  1. View your role- This shows you what your role page looks like to candidates when they’re browsing Hatch’s marketplace

  2. Preview application- This lets you explore the application of what the candidates view when they apply.

How do I edit my role?

Once you publish your role on Hatch you have the chance to edit the role title, primary contact, and the expected close date. To do this, click on the settings icon at the top of the review page.

How can I share my role on other job boards?

To maximise your applications you can share your role on other job boards. Next to the bulk decline button click the share button. This will provide you with a link to invite candidates to apply so you can upload your role on other job boards. Check out this article for individual job board instructions.

How can I invite my team to review candidates?

Having a second opinion when reviewing applications can be really helpful and can also assist with the workload. The share button provides you with an option to invite your team by copying a link and sending it to them.

How can I assign a stage to candidates individually?

There are two different ways to assign a stage to individual candidates which you can follow in the steps below:

  1. On the review page, you’ll find three dots opposite the candidate's name

  2. Click the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear

  3. Click the selected stage you’d like to allocate them to.

Another way to do this:

  1. Open the candidate's application

  2. Find the stage bar on the right-hand side of the page

  3. Click the selected stage you’d like to allocate them to

Note: When declining candidates individually you have the option to opt-out of sending candidates the decline email. Allocating candidates to shortlisted or progressed doesn’t notify them of their status so we encourage you to contact them personally with next steps.
