How do I review candidates?
Updated over a week ago

Hatch gives you a number of tools to organise your candidates and review them quickly so that you can get to a better hiring outcome, faster.

🌊 What are the different stages in Hatch’s hiring workflow?

Hatch has a simple workflow that makes it easy for you to review your applicants in an organised way. The different stages in Hatch’s workflow are:

  • Inbox: Applications that haven’t been actioned or yet.

  • Shortlist: Candidates who show potential for your role.

  • Interview: Candidates you'd like to take to the next step in your hiring process.

  • Unsuccessful: Candidates you've decided not to move forward with. You’ll have the option to send a templated email to candidates you decline on Hatch or customise it with your own feedback.

👀 How do I see what my role looks like to candidates?

To preview what candidates encounter, click on the "..." button in the top right and select one of the following options:

  1. View role page- This shows you what your role page looks like to candidates when they’re browsing Hatch’s marketplace.

  2. Preview application- This lets you explore the application of what the candidates view when they apply.

✂️ How do I edit my role?

Once you publish your role on Hatch you have the chance to edit the role title, primary contact, and the expected close date. To do this, click on the settings icon at the top of the review page. If you want to change anything else, contact us at ask@hatch.team and we will do our best to get it updated for you.

🤔 How can I assign a stage to candidates individually?

NOTE: Candidates are notified via email of all updates to their application, including when it is viewed.

There are two different ways to assign a stage to individual candidates.

  1. On the review page, you’ll find "..." next to a candidate's name.

  2. Click the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear.

  3. Click the selected stage you’d like to allocate them to.

Or, if you are already reviewing a candidate, you can:

  1. Open the candidate's application.

  2. Find the stage selection on the right-hand side of the page.

  3. Click the stage you’d like to allocate them to.

Read this support article for more information on making changes to a group of candidates at once.
