Overview

Managing a job on Hatch is super simple and hassle-free. You can easily create, edit, close, or reopen a job at any time. The job lifecycle keeps you on top of things at every stage, from the moment you post your job to when you find your perfect match. Easy, right?

Lifecycle of a job

Jobs go through three simple stages:

  • Draft: You’re setting things up, and the job isn’t visible yet. No match requests are sent or received.

  • Open: Your job is live and ready for people to see! You can receive and send match requests.

  • Closed: No more new match requests. The job’s closed, and you can’t send or receive match requests anymore.

Closing a job 📦

When you're ready to wrap things up, simply change the job's status to “closed.” This means no more match requests will come in, and the job is no longer open for talent. Here’s what happens when you close a job:

  • Stops people from requesting to match with you.

  • Stops you from sending match requests to recommended talent.

  • Marks the job as closed.

  • Removes the job listing from active searches, so it won’t show up anymore.

Reopening a job 👐

Need to give your job another shot? No worries, you can easily reopen it! This comes in handy if you didn’t find your perfect match the first time around or if you're hiring for the same job again. Here's what happens when you reopen a job:

  • People can start requesting to match with you again.

  • You can view and send match requests to recommended candidates.

  • The job will be marked as open again.

  • The job will show up in searches, making it visible to people again.

Deleting a job 🗑️

If you decide you no longer need a job listing, you can delete it. Once deleted, the job will be permanently removed from your list, and you’ll lose access to all its details. Keep in mind that this action cannot be undone, so make sure you’re certain before deleting.

Here’s what happens when you delete a job:

  • Permanently removes the job from your list.

  • You’ll lose access to the job and all its details.

  • This action cannot be undone—you won't be able to recover the job once deleted.
