Overview
On Hatch, matches happen when both talent and employers accept a match request. You can send a match request, and the other party can either accept or decline. When you both accept, your contact details are shared, and you can start chatting directly!
Sending a match request 💌
Once your job is live, we’ll recommend people who suit your job based on their skills and values.
Find a match: Browse through the recommended people and select someone whose profile you like. Here’s how we make it easier to find the right fit:
Recent activity: See who’s been actively engaging with the platform, so you’re reaching out to people who are ready to move forward.
Job fit summary: We’ll show how well someone’s skills, experience, and past activity line up with your job, so you can spot the best fits fast.
Profile insights: Get the lowdown on their experience, values, and personality to make sure they align with your team.
Send a request: Click on their profile and send a match request to express your interest.
Write a personal message: Customise your message to make your request more engaging.
Get notified: You’ll get notifications when someone accepts or declines your request.
Receiving requests to match 📝
When your job is open for matching, people can send requests to match with you. Each request shows their profile and answers to any questions you’ve set. This is the perfect time to bring your hiring team in and review the requests. All requests will appear in a list under your job.
Accept a request: Add a personal message when you accept someone. After accepting, they move to your Matches tab, and they’ll get notified about the match.
Decline a request: You can send a custom message when declining. If you don’t, Hatch will send a standard response to let them know.
You can always revisit requests you’ve declined. Requests are split into Inbox and Declined, and you can filter them as needed.
Inbox: Requests waiting for your review.
Declined: Requests you’ve decided not to move forward with
Steps to take after matching 🚶
When both you and the person decide to match, we’ll notify you and keep track of the match details, including any messages exchanged.
Get contact details: You’ll receive their phone number and email, and they’ll get your email. Reach out to them to discuss the next steps. We’ll let them know you’ll be in touch, but they might reach out to you first.
Keep the conversation going: Take it from here via email, phone, or your applicant tracking system. This is your chance to keep things moving and discuss the next steps.
