Creating a Hatch Students job works just like creating any other job on Hatch, with a few differences built specifically for hiring students.
Choose Hatch Students from the start đ
When you start creating a job, pick Hatch Students instead of Standard.
Hatch is the legal employer: this locks in Hatch as the employer of record for the placement, so payroll, contracts, and compliance are handled for you.
Seniority and employment type are locked: Hatch Students jobs are automatically set to Intern seniority and Contract employment type, the standard structure for a student placement.
Locked once posted: your job type can't be changed after the job goes live, so double check you've picked the right one first (you can still switch it before publishing).
Ask the right questions đ
Alongside your own custom questions, you can add from a set of Hatch Students Questions, designed to surface a student's potential, not their resume.
Reusable for students: these are questions students answer once and reuse across every application, giving you consistent, work-readiness-focused answers with no extra effort from applicants.
Working rights are checked automatically: every Hatch Students job includes a standard "Working rights in Australia" question that can't be removed, so you avoid visa or eligibility surprises down the line.
