How to update your role's close date and keep your dashboard organised.

Updated over a week ago

Learn the difference between the "application close date" and your "role closing" to keep your dashboard clean and set clear expectations with candidates.

🙅 Application close date

When you post a job on Hatch, it’s immediately available for candidates to see and apply to. Before posting, set a date to stop receiving applications. A few days before this date, we’ll send a reminder. Once the date arrives, the role will no longer be available for new applications.

If you need to change the application period, navigate to your role’s settings and select a new application close date. You can also reopen applications from your settings after the role has closed.

📦 Role Closing

When you’re finished with a role on Hatch, mark it as closed. This keeps your list of roles tidy and lets us know who you hired, making it easy to update remaining candidates in just a few clicks.

Roles are automatically closed if they’re no longer accepting applications and haven’t seen any activity from your team in the last two weeks. We do this to ensure candidates aren’t left wondering indefinitely. You’ll receive email notifications prompting you to close the role before it’s automatically closed.

If a role is automatically closed and there are still candidates awaiting review, we'll let them know that no outcome has been provided.

👐 Reopening a closed role

If you’d like to re-open a closed role, please contact us at ask@hatch.team and let us know which role you're looking to reopen.
